50% ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE CHARGES ON TENANTS

21 April 2017 GP Raja, Ahmedabad

I am a tenant in a housing society (Ishaan-2) in Satellite area of Ahmedabad, since May 2012. I am being charged 150% of the Annual Maintenance Charges being paid by the owner-residents. This comes to an amount in excess of Rs 10,000/- per annum. I have no access to the society's rules and bye-laws. Is this quantum of additional maintenance charge legal and permissible? Which rule/act of the Gujarat Coop Housing Societies' Act covers this aspect? Thanks and regards.

The figure of Rs 10,000 mentioned in the original post is the excess amount being paid per annum by me, as compared to the member-residents.
